The Couple
Casey reached out to us about a year and half before their wedding date with lots of ideas and dreams of how her and Josh's wedding weekend would look. We were immediately excited about the opportunity and loved the idea of hiking a few days before the wedding to do their personal vows to a spot that was very meaningful to them.

We were immediately excited about the opportunity and loved the idea of hiking a few days before the wedding to do their personal vows at a spot that was very meaningful to them.
A few months before the wedding, we scouted locations for our adventure session as well as beautiful spots near the reception location.
The Locations:
Chapel in the Hills
One of the most gorgeous locations to have an outdoor wedding ceremony in the Rapid City area is Chapel in the Hills. The chapel itself is an exact reproduction of the famous Borgund Stavkirke of Laerdal, Norway. It is an iconic location in the Rapid City and Black Hills area. You can learn more about it here:

Wickiup Village Cabins
Casey & Josh wanted to have all their friends & family together for the weekend celebration and so they rented out the entire Wickiup Village at Cheyenne Crossing for the 4 day event..

Spearfish Canyon
Spearfish Canyon is one of the most beautiful places in the fall with all the leaves changing color! We drove the 20 minute drive from Wickiup to the canyon for some beautiful portraits with the couple. We also had do a few cool drone shots of the bus ;)

Cathedral Spires
Adventure Session
Casey & Josh wanted to go somewhere meaningful to them for their adventure session, so we ended up hiking the 1.6 mile hike to Cathedral Spires. Towards the end of the hike we found a good spot for the two of them to share their personal vows. They then set up a hammock to relax for a few moments -although realized they did not have the straps, so Josh being the mountain man he is, figured out a way to make it work anyway!
On the way back we asked them if they would practice their choreographed first dance for us as Rebecca filmed from above with the drone.
Once back to the Venture Bus, we all continued to drive along Iron Mt. road to get some cool drone shots of the Bus traveling through the twisty roads of the Black Hills. Rebecca also asked the couple to talk about their bus and the adventures they have had in building it. - This ended up being a great way to open up their film and incorporate the story of their travels with the Venture Bus.

I came across DeWitt Photo/Zsomething Films about a year before our wedding date. It took me less then 5 minutes to know they were exactly who I was looking for to capture our wedding weekend. I can't even explain just how perfect our wedding weekend went with the help of Rebecca and Kyle. We had a full wedding weekend celebration starting on a Thursday going through Sunday, and they did not miss a thing. Zsomething Films was there for it all, so organized, professional and fun! As a bride and groom you are pulled in so many different directions which makes the day/weekend fly right by. Rebecca and Kyle kept us on track and helped us get the pictures and video we wanted through the whole weekend.
Let me tell you, this wasn't just a normal wedding.... this was an adventure wedding at its finest that included miles of hiking, hours of driving and tons of fun! They captured our private vows at the top of our absolute favorite hike, they captured us driving around the black hills in our skoolie bus, they captured beautiful memories with our family and friends, they captured our perfect wedding day and all the intimate important details, but most importantly, they captured us and our story. A wedding isn't as fun if you don't know the story.
I am so incredibly thankful to Zsomething Films for capturing the perfect story of us! Having these videos and photos to look back on and pass on to our future children is such an amazing feeling. We get to relive that weekend every time we watch it. Having our private vows on video as well is so amazing, we will have those very important memories alive with us forever.
If you need a sign to book them for your wedding or any other event, this is it. They are amazing and you will not be disappointed. They truly do incredible work. Not only were we impressed by there video/photo, but our friends and family were too, they were just in awe of how well everything came out! Book them!!!!
