The Couple
Shivani & Dustin met in Rapid City and have a shared love of skiing that brought them closer together over the years.
Shivani grew up attending big Indian weddings with her family and always knew she was going to have her own "big Indian wedding" one day. With the help of her mom, they pulled off an amazing 3 day celebration merging cultural events between western lifestyle and Indian celebration.
The Events:
Day 1
MEHNDI
This was a small event for close family to attend while Shivani had intricate henna designs applied to her hands & feet.
Day 2
WELCOME PARTY
Shivani & Dustin added in the western theme with their welcome party on Thursday evening that all guests were invited to. With dinner, a place for guests to get a small henna design, and dancing it was quite the night!
Day 3
HALDI
A Indian wedding custom where the day before the wedding, the family applies turmeric paste to the couple (or in this case just Shivani).
Day 4
BARAAT
The grooms upbeat and energetic professional with family and friends to the ceremony venue.
CEREMONY
Full of many customary traditions, there is so much that goes into this 2 hour long ceremony. It was followed by an amazing Indian cuisine for lunch!
RECEPTION
The grand final party of the evening to have a final celebration with everyone. We started the evening off with a black tie cocktail hour followed by the reception and dance!
